“I really enjoyed the beauty of Slocan Lake and the Valhallas while gaining new skills on a SUP. Jill guided us with energy, enthusiasm and expertise. She adapted the weekend to accommodate our level of expertise and comfort. I returned home feeling restored by this positive experience." Wanda Dubois. Lethbridge, AB
"Jill is a GEM! The paddle instruction weekend was awesome and so incredibly helpful in fine-tuning my paddle stroke. It has made a huge difference in the efficiency, speed and manouerability in paddling my SUP. Jill is a super host with an easy, laid-back approach to teaching...and she makes time for a good giggle, a stretch on the board and a float in the sunshine. I would recommend a weekend paddle/yoga session with Big Dog Paddle for a girl's trip, with your partner or as a single. Oh...and Slocan Lake is AMAZING." Jami Scheffer. Invermere. BC
“A stunning location for the SUP Weekend Retreat. It was my first time on a SUP and by the end of the weekend we had adventures across Slocan Lake to Wee Sandy Beach and many other cool spots near by. Jill has the gift to balance the teachings of the technical skills of SUP with the need to have fun and explore the outdoors. The weekend was set up so well from the welcome wine and cheese to the accommodation... Thank you Jill for the remarkable weekend that will be forever precious for me!” Chanel Burgener. Nelson, BC

'Being in nature
is pure bliss to me'
Jill Parry grew up in Calgary and spent the summers with her family windsurfing on Lake Windermere and canoeing the Columbia Wetlands. Jill follows her passion for water and the outdoors with her husband Rob, either paddle boarding the pristine waters of Slocan Lake or the spectacular channels of the Columbia River in her free time. When not on the water, she works as a supervisor for Parks Canada at the Radium Hot Springs Pools. For more than 20 years, Jill owned and instructed for ‘Kutenai Aquatics’ a water fitness swimming skills company at the Radium pools.
In 2012, Jill discovered her love for SUP and now inspires others to paddle. In the spring of 2015, she obtained her certification as an ‘Advanced SUP Paddle Canada instructor’. In the spring of 2018, Jill completed the Yoga Alliance RYS 200 hours instructor course in the Baja, Mexico. She begins each day with yoga, making time to listen to her body/spirit and clear her mind. Jill feels yoga keeps her mentally and physically strong on and off the water.
During the winter months, Jill enjoys cross-country skiing with her husband Rob and dreams of SUP!
